Description
Man, it's been a while since I last did a 'With Mia' comic. Did any of you miss these?
I swear, that line is word for word from the book. I did not exaggerate anything.
Fear my pointy chin. PH33R IT.
So what am I doing with a vampire romance novel in the first place? Well, it's kind of leftover from my... vampire phase. Around the end of elementary/beginning of high school, I got into that "vampire <3" phase most teenage girls are into nowadays.
And when I was fifteen, I read Twilight.
And...
....
I liked it.
BUT IT WAS ONLY FOR A LITTLE WHILE, AND I STILL THOUGHT THE WHOLE "EDWARD SPARKLES" CONCEPT WAS STUPID, AND I NEVER GOT DEEP INTO THAT FANDOM AND I GOT OUT REALLY QUICKLY.
And that set off my little epiphany that I wasn't the only person who liked vampires, and they'd become so watered down and turned into sex symbols.
I still kind of.... like vampires, BUT not as they're protrayed today; as sexually frustrated bad boys who are "still loyal to me and would never hurt me <3 <3 <3" -.- Seriously girls, getting stabbed in the neck isn't as sexy as it sounds. It's not the same as a hickey.
And don't give me any comments likes "Trueblood/Vampire Diaries/whatever is better than Twilight!!1". They're still seen as sexual fantasies. Nothing more.
When I like vampires, I like them as legit horror characters that kill people left and right just to eat and don't give a crap about Mary Sue love interests. *hugs Shiki*
I could rant more, but this comment is long enough.
Oh, and the book in question is "Primal Desires" by Susan Sizemore.
